What kind of information and why

The fact that we use cookies to be able to give you a better experience at our site also means that information will be gathered from you. To see a complete list of the cookies on our site please view the cookie list link at the bottom of our page.

We also gather personal data, such as name, address, phone number etc. to be able to contact you.

We also asks some questions in our application form about your spiritual life, home church, why you want to attend SOS Mission Bible School & Leadership Academy, how you found us in the first place etc. We do this partly for your sake, because it is easier to stick to a decision (eg. to attend a bible school) if you give a motivation for it (eg. I want to know more about the Bible). But we also ask these questions because we are curious about you, we look forward to having you as our student and to find out the best way to reach new students.

Who has access and for how long

All the information we gather is summarized in a spread sheet in Google Drive. This document is shared with the people that the current year are listed as coworkers at the school. That is the principle, administrators and the student relations team.

We are saving your information for the period of maximum 3 years, after that it will be deleted from the above mentioned Google Drive document. Mail conversations that we have had with you will be saved on our server for the period of maximum 5 years, after that it will be deleted. The reason why we save your information this amount of time is if you for some reason would not be able to attend the year you have applied, we will send out a mail the next year to see if you have the possibility to attend that year. We will do this two years in a row and therefore we need your contact information.

If you attend the school we will keep basic identifying information indefinitely. This includes: name, year attended, and whether or not you graduate. This is so if you need another diploma or to prove that you have attended the school we will be able to do so. In addition it helps us see the graduation rate of our students. At any time you can email us and we will de-identify this information.
